Friday, Feb. 13

Theater: If you’ve ever suffered from an unwanted houseguest (deadly or not), you’ve got to check out a performance of Killer Joe at Carolina Actors Studio Theatre. The thriller revolves around a hit man hired by a family to kill a relative, but after the dirty deed is done he won’t leave their home.

Special Event: Celebrate Valentine’s Day before it arrives at Love Sexy-Music For Lovers, featuring music from Carolina Voices and dancing by Charlotte’s Ballroom Dancers at McGlohon Theatre.

Arts: Love to travel? Peak into the Matt Hooker: Art of Foreign Lands exhibition at Green Rice Gallery for some paintings inspired by the artists visits around the world.

Saturday, Feb. 14

Special Event: This Valentine’s Day, you can do something different. Enjoy a dinner, wine, chocolate, a silent auction and try to solve a theatrical murder mystery at Theatre Charlotte’s Wine, Chocolate & Murder event.

Music: The Miami-based Cuban group Tiempo Libre is set to perform energetic grooves at McGlohon Theatre.

Theater: Relive history as the play Frost/Nixon (going down at Belk Theater) follows Richard Nixon’s startling interview with David Frost.

Sunday, Feb. 15

Food: Fill the stomach and all your Southern food urges with eats like barbecue, onion rings, cole slaw, cinnamon apple slices, mac-and-cheese and more from Jim ’N Nick’s Bar-B-Q: Southern Kitchen.

Special Event: Get your drink on with liquors and beers at The 8th Annual Bartenders Ball.
