Fri., April 17

Theater: You can expect pure nonsense and merriment from productions of Alice In Concert – a musical based on Lewis Carroll’s lit classics Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass – at ImaginOn’s McColl Family Theatre.

Festival: It’s time to break out the ol’ kilt and dance a wee jig all the way to the Scottish Festival and Loch Norman Highland Games happening this weekend at Rural Hill. At the festival, you can enjoy Scottish dancing and music, sheep-herding and whiskey.

Special Event: Folks with an obsession for getting inked should head over to 30th Annual National Tattoo Association Convention at Embassy Suites in Concord.

Sat., April 18

Special Event: This is the final Purgatory, – Single Cell Productions’ bondage/fetish party – themed Ragnarok and it’s going to be big, with loads of fetish performers and models, fire performers, DJs, live music from the Viking metal act Iron Cordoba and more. Just go to Amos’ Southend. Need I say more?

Special Event: Awaken you inner child by playing games – like Monopoly, Taboo, UNO, Hungry Hungry Hippos and chess – and drinking too, during Play Date at The Big Chill.

Special Event: Go green at the 2009 Charlotte Clean & Green: An Earth Day Celebration at Central Piedmont Community College.

Sun., April 19:

Music: Music radar alert! Check out The Foreign Exchange – a group that blends together a melodic mix of hip-hop and soul – who will perform at Double Door Inn.

Benefit: The 5th Annual Hope Floats Duck Race will go down at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. Proceeds support KinderMourn.

Food: Stop by Morgan’s Cheese Mo’z Coal Fired Pizza for a salad and pizza.
