Erik Prince, practicing sitting in his seat on the next flight to the United Arab Emirates

The Nation is reporting today that Erik Prince, the owner of N.C.-based Blackwater, could be planning to move to the United Arab Emirates. Why? Two reasons, apparently: Nearly everyone around Prince has been indicted on various federal charges, and he’s been waiting for the other shoe to drop; and the UAE, which includes Dubai,  doesn’t have an extradition agreement with the U.S.

The venerable magazine’s website reports that “sources close to” Prince claim the move to the UAE is seemingly all but a done deal, and points out that “In April, five of Prince’s top deputies were hit with a 15-count indictment by a federal Grand Jury on conspiracy, weapons and obstruction of justice charges.” The accused include former Blackwater president Gary Jackson, two former VP’s, and Prince’s former attorney. Prince has not been indicted but, obviously, his future in the U.S. doesn’t look too promising.

As we wrote last week, Prince has put Blackwater up for sale, blaming his company’s problems on “politics,” not on any actual illegal actions. Apparently, killing 17 innocent civilians at a time, violating firearms laws, and trying to hide what you’re doing from the government while that same government is paying you outrageous amounts of money are all OK, but when you’re caught, it’s because of “politics.”

The Nation story is a good investigative piece that taps several sources, and outlines possible charges against Prince, all of which lend credence to the talk of Prince bolting for the UAE.

  1. Why, Frank? President Obama isn’t the one who hired that band of thugs, paid them astronomical amounts of taxpayer money, and protected them for years.

  2. It’s interesting to note that NO charges brought against the company nor its current or former employees have have ever been successfully prosecuted in a federal court. Why is that do you suppose?

In fact, neither you nor the Feds could prove that there were 17 people killed by Blackwater personnel as you allege.

There were lots of bullets flying around that intersection. Many, if not most were 7.62×39. I doubt you could find that caliber of weapon on the guards on those trucks.

There are more thugs and racists at one Local meeting of the SEIU than in the entire Blackwater/XE organization.

Y’all need to get a life.

  3. Frank Griffin always inserts President Obama in every topic, even though it has nothing to do with it and is completely a lie or fantasy of his. Pay him no mind. The racism continues.

  4. The contract that your son of a bitch Bush signed them to, you bastard. Still paying them and still fighting the war, thanks to your war criminal Bush. Try and lie and spin it all you want.

Is that heinous enough for you Mr Hargro, or should I say……..FRANK GRIFFIN. Now go ____ yourself!
