I love soda. The sugary carbonation tickling my throat, the gentle burp that slyly erupts after a good gulp of Coke … it’s so lovely.
So why are these people proposing a penny-per-ounce excise tax on “sugared beverages”?
Because this tax, unlike the petty junk-food taxes of yesteryear, is designed to hurt. Its purpose is to discourage you from buying soda, on the grounds that soda, like smoking, is bad for you.
They’re haters. They’re waging a war on junk food, and I don’t like it. I don’t like it one bit.

Tuff, the liberals are coming the liberals are coming. Government has gone too far when it tries to protect you from yourself. They justify the tax by saying it is needed to protect you from becomming fat. The real reason is not that they care about you. They just want money and power.
In NYC they tried to tax sodas and said it was for health reasons but then at the same time they were increasing taxes on gym memberships. So for the gym situation they are taxing us because they want us to be unhealthy and then they tax sodas because they want us to be healthy. Which do you want liberals? Yea gotta stick to one side or the other.
The Hoax of global warming is a good example. After 10 years of the climate cooling these guys are still pushing to tax us on our carbon footprint. Now for those of use that failed chemisty and biology we exhale carbon. In the future we will be in so much debt from having to pay back all the money owed to the government from birth to 18 years old. We would not have had a job until then so we will be saddled with this debt and the interest that will have accumulated. Sounds crazy but then government is crazy.
