  1. Oh goody, a new place for Charlotte’s pretentious bankers to go to to feel self-important by overpaying for faux status (“look Muffy, they’ve got an extra PE on the end of SHOPPE”).

From NYBS’s website: “New York Butcher Shoppe was founded in Mt. Pleasant, SC”.

P.S.: That’s a stock photo, NOT a photo of the actual CHARLOTTE location of the MT PLEASANT-based “NEW YORK” Butcher Shoppe-with-pe-on-the-end.

  2. fg, what’s your problem? not authentic enough for you? oh yes its such a shame that there are ANY food options in Charlotte other than large corporate grocery stores and walmarts. fyi, it didn’t seem overpriced or “pretentious” to me in there.

  3. I was in the shop today around noon. They have a big sign on the wall for specialty sandwiches. So the woman in front of me asked to order one. She was told it would be 15 minutes and she would have to fill out a form. I mean who fills out a form for a sandwich. I tried to order some ground sausage. He said he ran out. What kind of butcher shop runs out of sausage the day before a holiday? If you make sauce you make it the day before, not the week before. It may as well come from a jar. Despite the name this is NOT a NY butcher. Not worth the trip.
