Southern cooking queen Paula Deen is set to host a charity cooking demonstration and Q&A session next Saturday, Jan. 22, in conjunction with the grand opening of her restaurant Paula Deen’s Kitchen at Harrah’s Cherokee.
The restaurant features an á la carte breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is reminiscent of the décor and ambiance of Paula Deen’s home and kitchen in Savannah.
In the restaurant’s retail shop, you’ll find all Paula’s popular cookbooks, spices and food items, cookware, logo wear and gifts.
Ticket prices range from $15 to $40. You can buy tickets here.
Harrah’s Cherokee is about a 3-hour drive from Charlotte.

Nice to see Paula Deen branching out into the restaurant biz and that’s she’s also selling some of her home goods too.
I walked into this establishment 30 minutes ago, expecting out of this world, mouthwatering home cooked food. I have seriously been let down. The chicken pot pie, crab sandwich, and crouque madame were such a let down. I hope they figure out how to improve on the quality of their dishes, because no restaurant with entrees like this will ever last.
We were eager to try Paula’s new Restaurant in Cherokee;we have always enjoyed her Savannah and
Tunica establishments. We were there Christmas Day and were extremely disappointed. The meats were way overdone, the collards were way too spicy (we like spicy, but these were inedible), the food was cold, and our service was slow. We would have spoken to a manager had one come around, but we couldn’t get hold of our server, let alone a manager. Hopefully the restaurant will be straightened our by our next visit to Cherokee in February. My hubby says we’re not wasting our money again, but I want to give it one more try. : (
That’s too bad. I’m going to check it out for myself this weekend. I hope it has improved. I’ll let ya know!
Went there for the grand opening Jan 22 and it’s fantastic. Food and service was super and the place looks great. Her cooking show was great, she is so funny.
Very disappointed in the restaurant in Cherokee..I went with my friend who had been to the one in Tunica and was so excited about going to the one at Harrarh’s in Cherokee..Huge let-down..The buffet..Huge disappointment..The mouth-watering Fried Green Tomatoes she prepares on her show..another disappointment..just a thin slice of tomatoe with alot of grease and batter..Little Jack Corner..a few muffins…behind the buffet..two doors with alot of dirty hand prints all over the glass..Save your money..want a good home-cooked meal..go to the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge !!
So disappointed in Paula’s Kitchen in Harrahs.Wish I had room to go into detail.Even tho I purchased $110.in gift shop. The meal was slop…not what I enjoyed at The Lady & Sons. Will never eat there again. And I will not recommend it to my friends or strangers.
FOOD WAS NOT GOOD. HAD TO WAIT 45 MIN.TO BE SEATED . OLNY TO BE SEATED IN A BOUTH THAT WAS MADE FOR LITTLE PEOPLE. I AM 6 FOOT 5IN. TALL AND350 LBS.HOPE THEY FIX WHAT IS WRONG. I DONT THINK I WILL GO BACK UNLESS IT WAS FREE THEN I WOULD HAVE TO THINK ABOUT IT. HOPE YOU WORK THINGS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was in PD’s kitchen yesterday and yes i to had been lookin forward to eating here for about a month and boy I was soooooo dissapointed i ordered the fried chicken (only because the other meats on the menu were not good choices who eats cheesy meat loaf)?….the mac and cheese or should i say paste and noodles and the fries.I know you’re saying where’s the veggies that is the same thing i was saying when i was looking at the menu….everybody don’t eat collard greens…. the fries had too much seasoning on them.accordint to my friends i was with the collards were tooo salty and the chiken at bojangles is better ….None of the food was hot. the server (Sky) was the worst waitress she kept forgetting to bring our drinks and one of my friends did’t get her drink until after we got our food. It was just a terrible experience overall, just awful. I would love a refund but we know that’s not gonna happen…lol and the dessert (apple crisp) was the wosrt ever the crisp topping tasted like well it tasted like you were eating the raw oats out of the box.I will never go back.
So very disappointed in the food. Our waiter was good, but a very poor buffet and buffet lacked in food. No bread, dessert or very few veg. We heard no good comments from anyone. Paula you really need to check back in on this rest. or your name will be hurt. We went just to eat at your restaurant……Better in Sav. Ga. Please fix it.
My wife and I invited two guest to come to Harrahs and try your new rest. We were very dissapointed. -*the buffet bar was not worked properly, ( no food on the bar ) we had to ask the server for food the only saving grace was the waiter. he tried to help but it was hopeless. Visited the Restaurant on Friday, April 01, 2011. Arrived at noon and could not be seated because staff was on a break. Waited twenty minutes to be seated. Service was poor. Waitress messed up the order. had to ask someone for drink refills. My food was fine, but my wife and a freind ordered the crab cake sandwich and both were disappointed with the food. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Expected better.
Visited your Harrah establishment May 25,2011 and was disappointed in the service. The hostess Denise developed an attitude when we asked for a table instead of a booth. I have been to your Savannah establishment two times and thoroughly enjoyed the staff and the wonderful food. Your Harrah staff needs to take some training lessons from your Savannah staff, they know how to please the customers and entertain the customers. Harrah staff shows no excitement. They do not have that Paula Deen excitement. I will continue to frequent your establishment in Savannah but until things change at Harrah I will not return. I will not recommend anyone go to Harrah but to take the time and enjoy your Savannah establishment.
I visited PD at Harrah’s on May 31,2011. The restaurant was beautiful, as was the gift shop. The food was a real disappointment to me. The buffet was not worth 15.00. I could tell that by looking. Very few choices. The Crouque Madame was very greasy, and I didnt even let them put the runny egg that goes on top. The waitress warned me of that. The tour buses do not recommend this place to their passengers. I love your show and your personality but I wont go to this place again. It is truly a greasy spoon.
First time at this restaurant (June, 2011). It was terrible!
Waited forever to get cold food, buffet was pathetic! Need some management there!
My wife and I tried this location in April because she was really excited to finally have the opportunity to eat at Paula Deens. Food was HUGE dissapointment, made to wait 45 min. when there were empty tables. Thought we would give another chance on our 3 day stay in june. approached the hostess and was told that the wait would an hour and a half. restaurant was less than half full. we left along with 4 other couples and ate elsewhere. I am retired after 45 years in retail and food service and know that you will not survive turning customers away for LACK of srevice and Mediocre food fr high prices.
