The Burger Company opened today in Wesley Heights at the corner of Morehead Street and Freedom Drive.

The restaurant serves up burgers, hot dogs, salads and sandwiches, all priced under $7.50. They also have a full bar, which will make it a great neighborhood watering hole.

For lunch, you place your order at the counter and they’ll bring your food to your table. For dinner service, they’ll seat you and you will be waited upon. Keep in mind that burgers come solo, so you’ve got to order your sides (tater tots, fries, onion rings, coleslaw, chips, and sweet potato fries) separate.

For the burgers, the Burger Company grinds their own beef in-house daily. Burgers are organized into three categories – Classic, Alternative, or Stuffed. I tried the Stuffed Pesto Burger (pesto, tomatoes, and cracked black pepper with a burger stuffed with American cheese) for $6.50, along with the fried pickles, sweet potato fries, and also a few sweet potato tater tots. The cheese stuffed in the burger was barely noticeable to the eye …  but the taste was there. The tots were more like flattened sweet potato mash that had been fried. A bit too greasy, not enough crunch. The sweet potato fries were cut waffle style and were probably the best of the bunch.

  1. I ate there for lunch today and also had the stuffed pesto burger. It was delicious! There was plenty of cheese in the middle. I don’t know…maybe yours wasn’t as stuffed as it should have been or they just started adding more cheese. I also had the fried pickles and the onion rings…both great! Definitely look forward to trying everything else. Next time…the pimento burger and the sweet potato fries!

  2. Unfortunately we had a different experience from Marie. The staff was inattentive to both the customers and the food. Plates spent endless time sitting on the counter while the wait staff tried to figure out the tickets. The cheeseburger was tasteless, dry and cold. Skip the tater tots, cold and mushy.

  3. I ate at The Burger Company today. I had the Stuffed burger with added pimento cheese and bacon in credible the cheese was coming out like nothing I have ever seen! The server said they grind their meat daily with Beef Brisket and Sirloin, tasty. They have a $1.50 Bud lite special plus the fried pickles were the best in town, by far. Can’t wait to vist again.

  4. My experience at Burger Co, was absolutely horrible. Service was less than satisfactory. Food was setting at the counter for quite some time while the servers attempted to sort out tickets/orders. Burger and fries were cold. The most shocking thing I saw was a fly landing on several plates/food that were waiting on the counter. I then attempted to inform cashier. She let me know that she was too busy at the register (food was 2 feet away from her). I informed the manager and he said that he would take care of it. I was in shock when I saw the same fly infested food still being served to customers unbeknownst to them. It was a very bad experienced, perhaps they should of had more staff on duty. I would definitely not visit this place again. The food was actually tasteful and if it was not cold maybe it would have been delicious. BTW , I originally wanted to go to Five Guys Burger spot, until a friend recommended this spot. DO yourself a favor and go to Five Guys , there service and burgers are better
