David Blackburn

A benefit show will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 25, to benefit David Blackburn, a member of the Charlotte film community. Blackburn was shot in a failed robbery/murder attempt in Denver, Colo., on Aug. 8.

The “Six Degrees of David Blackburn” Benefit will be held at The Neighborhood Theatre and feature Paleface, Dogwood Deddy with Bob Crawford of the Avett Brothers, Hick’ry Hawkins, Green Light, Raised by Wolves and Volatile Baby.

Blackburn, who is currently undergoing physical and emotional healing, has extensive medical costs due to a loss of wages and lack of health/medical insurance. All proceeds from the event will go to the David Blackburn Fund.

Tickets are $15. Doors open at 6 p.m. for the event, with the first band starting at 6:45 p.m. For more information, you can log on to the benefit’s MySpace page at www.myspace.com/davidblackburnbenefit.

An auction will be held at the event and dinner will be on-site with a $10 wristband. Donations can also be sent to:
