Previous tours and concerts by Hill haven’t been without controversy. During a 10-day tour of Europe, Hill only performed one show, passed out during the second and refused to give refunds. She has canceled a handful of shows for “health concerns” as well.

Earlier this year, she performed on the Rock the Bells tour (though sometimes she was as much as two hours late for her scheduled time). She recently was announced as a headliner for a Miami music festival in the spring of 2011.

Her only official studio solo album is 1998’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

  1. I attended Lauryn Hill Concert on Friday, January 14, 2010 and I was disappointed with the concert. Lauryn came on stage approxiamately, 12 midnight at Center Stage. She had about 5 member’s of the band playing guitars and 3 backup singers from hell. We couldn’t enjoy the concert because the band and backup singers was too damn loud. I was really lookimg forward to hearing Lauryn Hill not a loud ass band. The Dj’s that came before her actually was better entertainment. 30 minutes into the concert my friend and I left. Lauryn is such a beautiful sister but she came out on stage looking casket ready. Her hair looked like the Afro Wig Samuel Jackson wore in Pulp Fiction and her outfit looked like she had borrowed it from Johnny Depp in the Pirates of the Carribeans. When she walked out on stage I didn’t recognize her. I kept looking for Lauryn Hill to come on stage until i realized that strange looking indiviual with the mic in her hand was Lauryn Hill. I am not sure what she is going through and I pray everything get’s better, but she wasn’t prepared for a concert tour at this time in her life. I am a diehard fan but my girl needs to know she can’t just show up when she gets ready. When folks came out in the snow to support her. My suggestion to Ms. Hill is to get rid of that loud ass band and return to her ROOTS. Lauryn Hill one Guitar, a stool and her audience. She do not need all them damn loud ass band members. Bring back Ms. Hill. We miss you.

    BLESSINGS!
