Just saw this posted on co-owner Zach McNabb’s Facebook page:

Zach McNabb is going to clarify for those that are just finding out, we at the Neighborhood Theatre are actively looking for a potential buyer to come in and take over the Theatre but if that doesn’t work out, we will be closing our doors at the end of March…

It is a sad time for all of us who have been involved with the Theatre now for 6 years, but we have also shared some of the most fantastic shows and had a wonderful time on this adventure.

Why are we doing this, well know that it’s strictly a business decision that was made after many years of trying to improve the facility, improve the top line numbers as well as increasing our customer base…we have done all of those things with great pride, however in the end it’s just flat out not enough to keep the doors open.

Certainly rumors will circulate, but those are the true & real answers. On the flip side, have you seen our current schedule…it’s pretty bad ass with more surprises to come & I sure do hope that many of you join us as we celebrate the final months of our amazing journey that we have been on together.

You never know what might happen and where so stay in touch with us over the next while…we might just have something up our sleve for the future. I love u NT family. The end.

We can only hope that someone will come in and help keep this fantastic live music venue going. In the meantime, get out there and show your love and support for one of the best venues in town for live music as they continue to bring in great acts and support the local scene!

  1. I used to love the Neighborhood Theatre. But the changes made to the venue, the acts, and the poor air conditioning have led me to attend shows there much less frequently.
I have discovered a lot of great artists there that I might not have otherwise heard–Brandi Carlile, Jodie Manross, The Clarks–to name three.
And I loved seeing the classic acts–Leon Russell, Melanie, Richard Thompson, Hot Tuna– perform there. I was disappointed when folk oriented singer/songwriters like Cheryl Wheeler and Lucy Kaplansky stopped being booked. Nonetheless, I think of the theatre fondly and hope someone with a real love of music buys it.

  2. So…at what price will JEM sell the theatre? Who does one contact to make an offer? What does it include, besides the building? How much land?

  3. I don’t know what price, but I do know it’s only the business that is for sale. JEM does not own the name or the building – those are owned by Tyler Foster.

  4. I have seen many a great show at the NT (Keller-every time he’s been here, Richard Thompson, Little Feat, Leftover Salmon, Stephen Stills, Charlie Hunter, etc.), and have seen every one of them with one of my kids; great music, great venue, great memories. Thanks for everything, and best of luck to you all.
