You might have read in CL‘s Music Menu that singer/songwriter/musician/band leader Joe Jackson will be playing the Neighborhood Theatre tonight. I’m sure, however, that a ton of people don’t know who this dude is and can’t recall his music. Well, for both the fans and non-fans, I’m posting a few video clips of some of his best stuff. You’ve posted some good clips, but his biggest hit was “Is She Really Going Out With Him?”
I went to the show last night, and it was great… but there were definitely people around who had no idea who he was – and that’s a shame. So, he hasn’t been comercially viable for 15 years at least. He’s an amazing songwriter who deserves to be at least as well known to every college kid as Elvis Costello seems to be.
Even if you’re only living in his back catalog, you’re listening to some of the best music of the early 80’s.
