Adam Lambert
The Fillmore
March 6, 2016
American Idol alum Adam Lambert rolled into The Fillmore last night for his The Original High tour in support of his third studio album of the same name. Lambert’s performance added a hint of theatrics with plenty of dancing to highlight his singing chops which have come a long way since the Idol days. The 34-year-old wasn’t afraid to throw a handful of covers into his setlist either, performing songs by Pink, David Bowie, Tears for Fears and Queen.

Not sure what Pink cover is in that Setlist. Pink wrote Whatya Want From Me. but it was recorded on Adam’s first album For Your Entertainment which was also nominated for a Grammy. I know she has sung it on her tour, but she has always acknowledged Adam for releasing it on his first album. Adam also sang Fever which was written by Lady Gaga and Never Close Our Eyes by Bruno Mars. Nice pics, BTW!
What do You Want From Me from Pink was on the Fillmore set list. Adam’s covers usually surpass the original artists. He can sing one song 5 different ways off the top of his head, Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love a classic example. I remember seeing Adam at the Fillmore in 2010 on his Glam Nation Tour with the audience gasping when Adam came out on the stage & almost forgetting to exhale. There was an electric current in the air with fans around me commenting on the adrenaline rush we were all feeling. He also had that effect on the audience on the world tour Queen concerts. Adam has a powerful stage presence, along with his magnificent vocal ability. Seeing him live is an unforgettable experience! funbunn40
