Lynyrd Skynyrd pianist Billy Powell has passed away at age 56. Details are not known. The band has issued a statement: “Beloved Pianist for the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, Billy Powell, passed away last night. We have no further details. The family and band request your respect and understanding during this difficult time. Thank you.”
The band has cancelled some of its upcoming shows due to the loss.
