I’m not the biggest My Morning Jacket fan — for me, the verdict is still out. There are songs I really enjoy and others that make me yawn. However, the band just took a big notch up when I heard their latest cover.
Head over to Spin.com to hear My Morning Jacket’s cover of “Our Town,” a song from Emmit Otter’s Jug Band Christmas. The song will be featured on an album of bands covering songs from the Jim Henson songbook, due Aug. 23.
The movie was a favorite of mine from childhood and the band does sweet justice to the humble tune. Well done, guys!
