Musicians, bar and restaurant owners and music fans are trying to take more action to get their voices heard when it comes to the proposed noise ordinance changes.
The next Community Safety Committee meeting to hear from the public and discuss further changes doesn’t take place until March 21, giving local organizers plenty of time to get their thoughts together. The committee, once it has a proposal the way it thinks is fitting, will submit it to the city council for further review or a vote. The earliest a vote could come is on March 28.
In the meantime, a petition has been started to gather signatures from those opposed to the changes which might put a serious damper on the city’s outdoor, live music scene and a rally is scheduled to take place on Monday before the night’s city council meeting.

A Facebook page has also been set up by a group who is looking to “Save Charlotte Music.”
