Some people might see the words Crowntown Showdown and move on to the next event, but were you aware that the bands change every month? The venue changes, too. What remains consistent is the fact that six talented artists/bands perform and it’s all for just five bucks.
Sure, we’re a sponsor and help promote the show, but even if we didn’t have any ties to it, we’d still think it’s a great way to check out a variety of bands, all under one roof for a low price. What started out as a competition between 10 bands has now simply become a showcase of local and regional talent. There’s no winner — it’s just good music.
This month, it’s The Austin Hillbilly Experience, IlyAIMY, The Lesser Pauls, Reeve, Spells and Timbre Tambour. It all goes down at Snug Harbor on June 17 at 8 p.m.
Coming soon, it will be at the Neighborhood Theatre on July 15, at The Evening Muse on Aug. 19 and at The Double Door Inn on Sept. 16.
