During this year’s Grammy Awards, Taylor Swift sang a duet with Stevie Nicks and critics and fans alike came out saying Swift was off-key and not the best singer they’ve heard. The youngster went on to win four Grammys, but people were questioning those after her performance.

Now her label has come out in her defense… by admitting she’s not a great singer?

“Maybe she’s not the best technical singer, but she’s probably the best emotional singer because everybody else who gets up there and is technically perfect, people don’t seem to want more of it,” Scott (Borchetta of Big Machine Records) told The Tennessean.

  1. Ofcourse they will defend their top money cow. The test of a true singer is one who can perform equally well live, as they can “int he studio,” the latter of which, ANYONE can do. It just goes to show the music industry is completely BS these days where talentless “artists” like Taylor Swift can garner so much attention and recognition for really not having much to offer.

  2. People keep saying she is a good emotional singer, but not technical. She’s just sort of cute. No way can she stand up to Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood. That is raw talent, they don’t need music to sing. They can sing. But Taylor. Did you see the way Stevie Nick kept looking at her when they sung together. Taylor messed up a “classic” song. Maybe Kanye was RIGHT!!!

  3. How did this girl win, it certainly was not based on the person that is the most talented. The Grammy’s had plenty of talent there. It actually was an insult to the industry that she won..??!! Definitely not the best.
