It wasn’t too long ago that Speed Street was getting some pretty big names to headline their free Uptown festival, with multiple bands on multiple stages. Well, that was then …
The 600 Festival Association announced the performers for this year’s Circle K and Kangaroo Speed Street (the new sponsors were announced earlier this week), and I can’t imagine people are going to get overly excited for this year’s options. Maybe it’s just me? What are your thoughts?

PUKE
I think I will just go see Nickkeback with opening “act” Creed! Front Row too!

Thursday: Appetite is great, but you can see them 2/3 times a year at Amos’s. Tribute bands are for Amos’s and Alive After Five. Now, I WOULD go to the Journey tribute if they projected a YouTube parody video during “Separate Ways”.
Friday: Never heard of either.
Saturday: No interest in any reality show winner. Even less interest in Mr. Roboto.
The musical talent has seriously dropped off in the past couple of years. Its a shame really.
wow I used to like going out there because they had a performer for everybody but on different night I went two years back to back one time because on Thursday night stay at Group like boys to men swv! I know it would still be excited that I just wish they would have some more better performers
Just plain sad….and the vendors have backed off (big time last year) on the freebies too.
Thanks for sharing the line-up ~ think I’ll just stay at home – this list is NOT impressive at all!!!
Sad no good performers this yr.
This event in uptown Charlotte used to bring some pretty big acts for several years. Unfortunately it is barely a shadow of its former glory. Doubt they will see 400,000 attending this year. Disappointing line up. Perhaps Center City Partners should be involved in the future to be successful.
