The Deal: Ft. Lauderdale four-piece rockers release fifth studio album.
The Good: Not much has changed with the band. The songs might not be as hook-y as they have been in the past, but the formula remains the same – chugging distortion-filled guitars, moments of double-bass drum fills, the unique higher-pitched raspy vocals. The album is anchored by first single, “March of War” – a solid rocker that’s been getting plenty of airplay.
The Bad: The band can still write solid songs but haven’t quite matched the superiority of their first two efforts – Statement and Development. At times, it sounds like the band is getting too complacent and working from a formula. The aggressive track “Everybody Down” will be featured on the video game Raw vs. Smackdown 2008 – not sure if that’s good or bad.
The Verdict: Still doesn’t quite match those early albums, but still better than a lot of the crap that’s released these days.
