We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to the 2010 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival next week in Manchester, Tenn.
Here’s the deal
Simply comment on this thread with a valid e-mail address (we need to tell you that you won) and let us know the bands you’d love to see at this year’s festival, or the bands you think music editor Jeff Hahne should check out while he’s there.
The festival is from June 10-13, so we’ll have the drawing on Monday morning we’re literally going to throw e-mail addresses in a hat and pick random winners. Each e-mail address will only be entered once. Because of the quick turnaround, you need to be able to pick up the tickets at our Charlotte office we won’t be able to mail them so you can get them in time.
Also, we suggest you subscribe to music editor Jeff Hahne’s Twitter feed as he’ll be Tweeting and blogging from Bonnaroo all weekend.
Good luck!
This article appears in Jun 1-7, 2010.

I want to see the Black Keys, Weezer, Lucero, Stevie Wonder, Jay-Z, the Avett Brothers and a whole lot more.
I would love to see Regina Spektor, The John Butler Trio, Dave Matthews Band, Nora Jones, and…Conan O’Brien!
OK so I believe with all my heart that I am the number one Dave Matthews Band fan that does not have enough money to follow them on tour, but he’s everybody’s favorite, right? Aditionally, I won’t be able to see him this year in Charlotte because I’ll be in France (the reason I have no money for Bonnaroo… super tough choice!!)PLUS DMB isn’t touring next year!!
But alright, I’d also love to see Stevie Wonder, Weezer since it’s been a while, Nora Jones since I missed that one here too, Phoenix (french!!) because I’m graduating the day of the Clt show and can’t go, Jay Z, Kid Cudi and Aziz Ansari. Perhaps the band that will take my heart from Dave is the Avett Bros. This is a special case… my friend saw them new year’s day in Myrtle last summer, then ATL on new year’s day, and didn’t invite me to either! (granted they were both gifts.) If I could see these groups at Bonnaroo I would be the happiest High School Grad ever, literally.
Jeff Hahne should definitely check out Damian Marley and Nas while he’s at Roo. Their new album is incredible and the most socially concious hip-hop (if it can be called just that) since Public Enemy. The Black Keys might take MGMT’s electro pop throne, plus they bring some Gnarls Barkley funk in the tunes; check them out. Wale is Kid Cudi’s right hand man, delivering the same genre of album-based hip hop with lots of personal stories but club bangers as well. If you’re looking to get tripped out without hallucinogens go see Dan Deacon. Ingrid Michaelson has a Regina Spektor voice with folk soul and story telling skills. I love Langhorne Slim, and according to my best friend, gives it his all at live shows, throwing his guitar like a punk rocker but belting folk-country pop Avett style songs. Carolina Chocolate Drops! their rendition of Hit em up Style, nuff said. I could go on forever, but also be sure to see Dr. Dog, The National, Steve Martin, Fanfarlo!! Dropkick Murpheys, and dance your pants off to Bassnectar!
Sorry this was so long, but I want to go to Bonnaroo SOOO badly!! I’ll be following Mr. Hahne on Twitter (@gjeanpatrick1)
Thanks for the opportunity!!

Avett’s, Black Keys, Dave, Dylan.
You have to check out The Temper Trap. Why, you ask? Four words: The Science of Fear.
Okay so Charlotte is about 6 hours out of the way for me but it might be worth it for Bonnaroo tickets. I already bought tickets on eBay but I think I got scammed because the guy won’t answer my emails and the tickets haven’t been sent. Anyways, I’m looking forward to Jimmy Cliff, DMB, John Fogerty, Dead Weather and Jay-Z.

There are so many great band playing this year. I choose to describe the lesser known acts at the show this year.
Thursday, one of the best performers to catch will be Sarah Jarosz. She is accomplished Mandolin players who has a voice similar to Gillian Welch. She is unbelievably talented. You will not be disappointed. Also on Thursday you should check out Blitzen Trapper they are a great indie folk band from the northwest and have some tunes reminiscent of the band.
On Friday, defenently check out Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue a great gypsy jazz band from New Orleans. Dr. Dog will be another one not to miss. Very Beatles esque songwriting style.
Saturday: Langhorne Slim (great singer-songwriters) and Dave Rawlings Machine (Gillian Welch + Old crow medicine show).
Sunday: Calexico (great indie rock band with some of the sound of Carlos Santana.
