Q: So what did you think about that TV series that recently ran on CNN called Black in America?
A: Well, while I think that the folks behind the series had good intentions, it probably should have been called Black Problems in America.
I say that because the shows talked in depth about the maladies that are plaguing African-Americans but didn’t really talk much about other aspects of black life. And believe me, there’s more to being black than the ills we face.
Now, I wasn’t the only person to voice criticisms about Black in America. Visit CNN.com, and you’ll see hundreds of negative comments left by viewers. And, sadly, the majority of these comments were incredibly racist, spewing tons of hateful comments about black people.
