Pubix: A woman got violent at the South End Publix last week in a desperate effort to clean up her personal area. The woman was seen shoplifting and when a security guard approached her, she pushed him down and ran out of the door holding a steak, body wash, a box of condoms and a tube of vaginal antifungal cream.

PIN Head: A man filed a police report last week after he lost his debit card and realized soon after that someone was going around town taking money out of ATMs with it. The victim told officers the suspects didn’t have to do much guesswork, as he had the PIN written on a piece of tape attached to the back of the card. He said he did that because he used to let an old girlfriend use his card on a regular basis (first mistake) and he “got tired of her calling him when she could not remember his PIN,” according to the report.

Tuesday Boozeday: A Charlotte attorney did not have the law on her side after losing her composure during a London-bound flight. In a failed attempt to wind down before the flight, the woman drank three glasses of wine and a sleeping pill. She said she doesn’t remember anything after that, but her fellow passengers do. Witnesses say she became disruptive and tried to smash a window with a remote. She also got out of her seat and verbally threatened crew members in front of the cockpit. Luckily, passengers on the flight locked things down until the plane reached Philadelphia, where the flight had been diverted. Fellow passengers held the woman down and taped her legs together until they arrived in Philly. The flight was later cancelled.

Polly Phone Home: A possible pirate is on the loose in a northeast Charlotte trailer park. A woman who lives in the park called police when she realized that someone had stolen her $800 parrot, which she kept in a cage on the porch of her mobile home.

Free Ride: A 50-year-old woman’s first ride on the new Gold Line didn’t go well, as she reported being harassed by a stranger as she exited the trolley. The woman told officers a man approached while she was leaving the trolley and offered her money for no reason. After she turned down this direct approach, he hugged and kissed her on the cheek before walking away.

False Alarm: A man was arrested in west Charlotte for misuse of 911 after repeatedly calling the emergency dispatcher and saying “someone is shot” while knowing there was no emergency, according to the report. Although there is a high possiblity that someone somewhere was shot at each time that he called.

Threats of the Week: A CATS bus driver, who may now be applying to drive the free Gold Line trolley, was threatened with death by a bus rider last week who was angry that he had to pay a fare to ride. In an unrelated incident, a 17-year-old boy filed a report after someone relayed a threat to him at his workplace. The boy’s YMCA co-worker told him that someone came in looking for him on his day off and left a message for him: “we want your head.”
