That’s Annoying?: A 32-year-old northeast Charlotte woman told police that she has been receiving harassing phone calls — around eight calls in the last five months. She says the caller is not communicating threats, but simply calling to annoy her. Eight calls in five months? Must be horrible … if only they could create a way to block calls from a certain number.

So Fresh And So Clean: Someone broke into an east Charlotte home, entering through a back window and stealing a bunch of high-priced items. Among the items reported stolen were a gold bracelet, gold earrings, a 47″ television, a DVD player, a video camera and a digital camera. Of course, before leaving, the thief/thieves also stole toilet paper and some feminine products. Maybe crime made them feel dirty all over.

That’s Spicy: Police were called to a south Charlotte Bojangles’ after a bush on the property was set on fire. No reports of Moses in the area though.

Man Of Steal: Police responded to a shoplifting call at a south Charlotte Kohls. Someone shoplifted iPod speakers and a Superman watch.

Planning Ahead: A person working as security at a east Charlotte Food Lion noticed a man walking down an aisle one night when a beer can fell out of the subject’s pocket. The person was detained and searched at which point a bottle of Tylenol was found. I guess he was just preparing for an inevitable hangover.

Gettin’ Wiggy With It: An east Charlotte beauty saloon phoned police after someone tried to leave the store without making any effort to pay for two $20 black wigs. When police patted the subject down, they were found to be in possession of marijuana. Maybe they got high and thought it would be fun to dress up?

Blotter items are chosen from the files of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
