Lowe’s Motor Speedway owner Bruton Smith has successfully turned an entire county into his bitch.
• First he said he wanted a drag strip out in Concord.
• The residents said no.
• Smith said he was taking his drag strip and going home.
• Nervous officials then bent over backwards and offered Smith every thing he wanted, including $70 million dollars in incentives.
• Smith started making his own moves, purchasing the New Hampshire International Speedway, sending further chills down Cabarrus County’s spine.
And now, they all sit and wait.
