Dave Harris is the chief engineer and owner of Studio B Mastering and a solid fixture in Charlotte’s music scene.

1) Book: “My favorite book of all time is Jack Kerouac’s On The Road. I mainly read periodicals, and besides several trade magazines I also read Popular Science and The Wall Street Journal on a regular basis.”

2) Music: “Even though I work with music every day, I am still huge fan and constantly listen to a wide variety. [Some favorites are] The Eels, Fountains of Wayne, The Pixies and many of the bands that I’ve worked with, such as The Rosebuds, Pyramid, Two Dollar Pistols and Cities.”

3) Restaurant: The Common Market Deli. He often takes clients to the low-key deli for lunch, and notes that Charlotte seems oblivious to the talented people that live and frequent the city.

4) Movies: “I don’t have much time for movies these days. Requiem for a Dream was pretty cool.” Laughing, he adds, “I should say some ’80s movie that was rad.”

5) Hobbies: “I have more hobbies than I have time!” Among his kicks: running on Charlotte’s Greenways, an amateur radio operation, tai chi and landscaping.
