Wow, who knew that Republicans were so sexist that they’ve virtually excluded women from government? Anyone who has been awake for the past few decades knows, of course, that the first women appointed to real positons of power in the Federal gov’t -Supreme Court Justice, cabinet posts ultimately including Secretary of State- were appointed by. . .why those horrid sexist Republicans! Pelosi is to be complimented on her accomplishment. You, on the other hand, apparently take you readers for idiots who will swallow the “sexist Republican” line that made a womn in a powerful positon unthinkable “in the depths of the Bush years”, and can hardly be taken seriously as a result.
Nancy Pelosi is a corporate politician with connections to special interest groups and lobbyists just like the Republicans. She has no allegiance to the working class anymore. She is and will remain a career politician. People’s personal goals come way before their so-called commitment to justice and equality.
It’s just like when a black is elected to a high post like Condi, Colin or Clarence Thomas (Damn what’s up with all the C’s. Is that how Republicans pick them or something?). They are black on the outside and it ends there. Nancy Pelosi does not share the concerns of single mothers and women all over this country. She just doesn’t. She’s just like Barack Obama. She shows us what she thinks we want to see and then they go do what they want behind chamber doors.
How many times will people fall for this? It’s only been going on for centuries. Washington is run by corporations. Corporations are run by stockholders. Stockholders send lobbyists to Washington to bribe and blackmail politicians into doing their bidding and they do it willingly because they are career politicians.
And now it’s spreading all over the world with globalism because corporations realize that they have an untapped low wage labor market overseas thanks to the US hogging all of the earth’s resources for centuries and relegating the rest of the world to poverty. Nancy Pelosi is Ms. Status Quo. Bush has been so far right that she will appear left but her liberals roots are all but drowned in Washington power and influence. This government must be overthrown. I hope it can be done peacefully. Dennis Kucinich, John Conyers and Cynthia Mckinney are the only ones with enough gumption to stand up to these money-hungry elites.
Let me be direct: you’re an idiot. “Black on the outside”? You racist creep, you might want to pay attention to the fact that black Americans come from a variety of experiences and pretty much have the same concerns as their neighbors and most are solidly middle class. The idea that one is not black if one is not a liberal Democrat is racist at it’s core, and it’s also simply not the product of an intelligent mind. Thank goodness CL doesn’t edit out the mental detrius of racist bigots. We NEED to see this sort of crap to remember that there are still people around who think skin color defines thinking.
