Fall is coming and you know what that means: It’s time for all those damn fashion rags to trot out a ton of stylists from Los Angeles and New York to tell you what to wear. And aren’t you sick of that?

I mean, what do folks like June Ambrose, Phillip Bloch and Constance White know that the cool people in Charlotte don’t know? Contrary to popular belief, not everyone in Charlotte is decked out in a bland suit. Right? Right?! (Throw us a bone here.)

So, in the interest of telling the so-called “fashion gurus” of the world to eat a fat one, we at Creative Loafing have decided to ask YOU what’s hot and what ain’t hot.

To that end, we’ve consulted everyday stylish Joes walking the Q.C. streets and trendsetters who keep the city’s style engine moving. We’ve even tracked down a few Charlotte professionals who are ready to ditch their gear from Chico’s and embrace to the style star within.

At any rate, read on: you’ll undoubtedly get inspiration from the pages that follow. And for God’s sake — throw those crappy issues of Vogue in the recycling bin!
