Not the Best Of (Judgment)

I am saddened, sickened and outraged at the Charlotte Creative Loafing Critics’ Pick of Tony Snow for a local person made bad (“Best of Charlotte 2007,” Aug. 1).

Tony Snow is 51 years old, has a wife, three young children, a job and he is a human being. Being a cancer survivor myself who is still going through treatment, I’m sure he’s been through hell already during his first treatment and major surgeries. Now that his doctors have found that the cancer has metastasized, and that he has a huge uphill battle, I can only imagine what he is going through at this time.

The ignorance, immaturity and lack of compassion displayed in your newsprint are startling. The real kicker is that your newspaper staff knew he had a cancer recurrence during the decision process and publication. Isn’t a large part of your newsprint about ensuring decency for all?!

I suggest the staff learn more about the perils of cancer.

  1. As a cancer survivor, you should know better than most that those with illness and affliction want no special favors, no special treatment. They want only to feel normal and be treated the same as always. So I applaud CL for pointing out that Tony Snow is a lying sack of shit who chooses to use his immeasurable intelligence and talent to spin and lie for the most corrupt administration in history. Reprehensible. Cancer or not, he’s a scumbag.
