CHARLOTTE, NC – The WearHouse, a bilingual thrift store in Charlotte, NC, is celebrating National Thrift Store day by offering a huge sale–allsummer clothing will be $1. The discounted items include shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, sundresses, bathing suits, and skirts. Although the sale benefits all Charlotteans, from the average thrifter to families who are getting ready for school to start, it’s the thrift store’s purpose that will allow people to buy into The WearHouse’s mission.
The WearHouse is part of Camino, a bilingual and multicultural nonprofit in the Charlotte area and its goal is to satisfy its customers while also enriching its community. It fulfills its goal each day by providing excellent and bilingual customer service and by recycling its proceeds back into the Charlotte community. Meaning, that when someone purchases from this thrift store, they not only feel good but they do good.
In 2021 alone, there were at least 300 instances where The WearHouse helped individuals by providing them with free clothing or goods, for an estimated value of $5,500. There are even jackets, clothing, and sleeping bags set apart in the back for those who wander into the store seeking aid.
“This sale ties into Camino’s mission of equipping people to live healthy, hopeful, and productive lives by offering clothing at affordable prices,” said Jill Price, Manager of The WearHouse. “Providing affordable clothes for school, work, or everyday life gives people a sense of wellbeing and preparedness for the day.” From its friendly sales associates to its large selection of home goods, clothing, and more, at affordable prices, The WearHouse hopes to continue to help style the Charlotte community, and to continue to help families and individuals in crisis.
