As a co-owner of Corrigan and Johnston Casting, Mitzi Corrigan is a full-time casting director for films and commercials. Recently she became the founder of a non-profit organization — “Emma’s Gifts Productions” — which is inspired by her daughter with Down syndrome.
1) Books: “I’m reading Veronica, with the book club I’ve recently joined. It’s about a woman that loses her beauty in her 50s.”
2) Movies: “I love anything period, but I love Emma Thompson. It’s how my little girl got her name.”
3) Music: “I’m a big Joanie Mitchell fan. But bluegrass is a part of my life, as my husband is a musician.”
4) Restaurant: “We go to Hawthorne’s Pizza a lot, as the pizza guys are so friendly.”
5) Experiences: “The birth of my twins. It was such a huge thing to go through, as we didn’t have a pre-diagnosis about Emma’s Down syndrome. It was a very frightening experience initially, but there was a real peace about it in the end. I can hardly remember what my life was like without my children.”
