Sokha Khen is a library assistant at ImaginOn, Charlotte’s only children’s library, and spends her days surrounded by books, puppets and sushi.

1) Books: “One of my favorites is The Time Traveler’s Wife. It makes you wonder ‘what if?’ What if you had the chance to meet your future spouse as a child? It’s a dream; it’s make-believe. That’s what books are about.”

2) Movie:Apocalypto. Because I was a history major [at UNCC], I thought the portrayal of Mayan culture was very realistic and the film was very well done. I also wanted to see Jackass 2 because those boys are so stupid. It makes me feel good about myself!”

3) Music: “These days, Nelly Furtado. And Nickelback. Their music videos always make me cry!”

4) Travel: “I love the beach. I want to go to Hawaii. I also want to go to Europe one day. Basically, I want to travel the world. I want to go to Cambodia; that’s where my parents are from. I’m Cambodian, but I don’t even know what Cambodia looks like. I want to go and learn, experience.”

5) Food: “Everything! I’m willing to try any food once! Ru San’s buffet is good because you can try everything! And, hamburgers and cheese fries at the Penguin.”
