The five staples: The following items were stolen by a suspect from the Eastway Wal-Mart: a pair of capri pants, playing cards, $138 worth of DVD movies, a pregnancy test kit and anti-perspirant. A fun game is to concoct scenarios in which the suspect uses all the loot at one time. For example: A stylish woman wearing trousers that were not quite shorts and not quite pants lured a man into playing Go Fish with her. Attracted by her non-sweaty pits and her catalog of Vin Diesel flicks, he took the relationship to the next level — intercourse.
Revenge is In The Pastry: An ex-fiancé of a woman crashed a party she was throwing. While there, he enjoyed a slice of cake. Not wanting to be selfish, he shared it with his ex-fiancée by shoving some in her face.
Related Crimes?: The clerk at a Harrisburg Road Eckerds left the counter to assist a customer. When he returned, a man was behind the counter taking cartons of cigarettes. The clerk approached the suspect, but the man continued to steal the cigarettes. After he had finished, he ran out of the store with four cartons. The crime occurred at 3:58pm. At 6:40pm, an Exxon station not too far away reported a theft of 50 cigarette lighters. The crime occurred when the clerk’s back was turned.
buff Bandit: A resident of an apartment complex was seen going into the apartment gym, looking around to make sure no one saw him, then taking two 20-pound dumbbells. No security system was installed to identify the suspect, but police are on the lookout for a man with small to medium sized guns (limbs not firearms) based on his selection of relatively puny weights.
Harassment or Humorist?: An owner of a Japanese Restaurant in Statesville has received over 200 calls at his eatery from an unknown caller. The caller uses vulgar language or makes crude jokes before hanging up. No threats have been made to the restaurant proprietor.
Threat Of The Week: A woman called her ex to relate the following threat: “I hired a private detective and I found you and your girlfriend. Now I’m going to come and kill you both.”
