The view from the 15th floor of the government center is a beautiful thing. It’s one of the few perks that come with the job of mayor. The walls of Charlotte Mayor Pat McCrory’s office are lined with windows that allow unspoiled views of the heart of uptown, including the Bank of America and Wachovia buildings on one side and on the other an unobstructed view that extends for miles on a clear day. The walls are lined with photos of McCrory and just about every powerful Republican you’d want to be seen with, from Liddy Dole to Dubya.
