Two CL staffers were recently handed awards by the North Carolina Press Association. Here’s who and what won:
• Staff writer Karen Shugart snagged 2nd Place for News Feature Writing for the story “Party Politics,” which was an examination of the racial divide in Charlotte’s downtown nightclubs.
• And Arts & Entertainment Editor Matt Brunson garnered 2nd Place for Criticism for his review of Brokeback Mountain titled “Tall in the Saddle.”
