While the Queen City’s Carrie Bradshaw, otherwise known as Brittney Cason, is soaking up the sun in Cali, I’ve filled in to be her Saint Louise — in this case, a Saint Sarah. Ready to enjoy labels and love, I headed off to drink cosmos and admire wedding fashion!
Nothing compares to finding that great love. We all have our different ideas of what that means — but when we find it, it’s like a dream come true. So, when that white horse comes around, you need a white gown. That’s why the “Dress in the Queen City” event used Carrie’s Vivienne Westwood gown as its headliner. With Carrie Bradshaw as the emblem of a modern day Cinderella, the big wedding and her gown, become the starting place for a modern fairytale.
The boutique that held the event was Hayden Olivia, a bridal store that brings New York style to the Queen City. And if giving us the chance to eye Carrie’s gown wasn’t charity enough, the event gave 100 percent of the proceeds to Dress for Success Charlotte — an organization that assists less fortunate women in the path to success.
Suite, located in the Epicenter, was transformed into the world of Carrie Bradshaw — the land of Sex in the Queen City. While the big movie played in the background, women indulged on their cosmos themed to the four infamous women — Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha.
The fashion show included dresses from Ines Di Santo, Modern Trousseau, Christos, the Vineyard Collection and several more. And to top it all, the models strutted their stuff to Sex and the City music. For photos, check out the Klepto blog here.
When the Big gown came out, love certainly was in the air as we all fell head over heels for the Vivienne Westwood dress. I think I speak for every woman there when I say we all wanted to be the lucky model at that moment.
It’s easy to get carried away when seeing so many wedding dresses. However, as my rose-or rather white-colored glasses come off, I realize there is no Mr. Big… just kidding. Mr. Big is out there, it just takes kissing a lot of frogs to find him — and when you do you can feel like a princess in your own New York gown.
