CHARLOTTE, N.C., February 10, 2009 – The Belk at SouthPark Mall, Charlotte, N.C., will host a “Lilly Jubilee” event on Thursday, February 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in celebration of Lilly Pulitzer’s 50 years of vibrant fashion.

In honor of this milestone, Belk will unveil its new (and only) Lilly Men’s Shop featuring the latest styles of men’s fashion apparel from Lilly.

“Belk is excited to introduce its new Lilly Pulitzer Men’s Shop at the SouthPark Mall location,” said McKay Belk, Belk, Inc. president and chief merchandising officer. “The Lilly brand is truly a fashion icon, and it is our pleasure to celebrate Lilly’s 50 years of lively, energetic designs with the ‘Lilly Jubilee’ event.”

During this celebratory event with special music and refreshments, Belk will be transformed into a Palm Beach destination, where the Lilly brand began. Guests will enjoy informal modeling showcasing Lilly’s Jubilee collection for ladies and its latest styles of men’s and children’s fashion apparel. Guests may also sample the newly introduced Lilly fragrance collection: Wink, Squeeze and Beachy. The brightly patterned Lilly Jeep will be on display near the mall entrance to Belk, along with Lilly’s Retrospective, a special history exhibit featuring Lilly’s iconic imagery, vintage garments and a retrospective video and oversized catalogue.

“For more than 50 years, Lilly Pulitzer’s signature prints have revolutionized American fashion,” said James Bradbeer, president of Lilly Pulitzer. “The Lilly Jubilee casts a glance back to the history of her colorful creations and celebrates their continued influence on many of today’s top designers.”

Customers purchasing $500 of Lilly Pulitzer products will receive a beautiful magazine tote. With a Lilly purchase of $750 or more, customers will receive the tote, a limited-edition silk Lilly scarf, and a retrospective book describing the Lilly Pulitzer brand (gifts with purchase are limited).

The event is free and open to the public; however, it is suggested that guests RSVP to Lilly Specialists Katherine or Marcia at 704-364-4251, ext. 8368.
