Retailers are taking a hint from Barack Obama’s successful campaign — they’re utilizing a digital strategy even more this holiday season.

According to a story from The Wall Street Journal, stores like Wal-Mart, Target and online retailers like Buy.com are utilizing text messages, Twitter and mobile applications to reach its customers more than ever before.

Sears has even released a new mobile Web site called Sears2Go, where customers can make credit-card purchases directly from their phones.
