I love D.C. And I love when designers stray from their signature looks to mix it up a bit, as Donna Karan did for her DKNY line. She showcased her fall line Sunday.

But, for next autumn/winter, one senses a little touch of Washington DC jostling for prominence.Neat, tailored, ladylike; jewel-colours; slim skirts and three-quarter sleeves; even a pair of green patent shoes. Could the “Mo” Obama effect be an influence.
This collection was far more structured and workwoman-like than the usual DKNY offering.
