In a recent interview, custom designer Tara Davis admits that she doesn’t follow seasonal trends as she puts together her collections. “It’s about creating trends for yourself, based on what you’re inspired by and then from there making sure these trends match your customers’ body types,” she said. Her spring collection will be “a little more 1920s inspired, so a lot of flairs, a lot of chiffons, a lot of flowy materials, things of that nature. A little bit more girly-type of concepts.”

Want to see for yourself? On Saturday, March 27, Davis will unveil her 2010 Spring Collection of FLOW by Tara Davis at Aloft Charlotte Ballantyne Hotel at an exclusive trunk show. The event will feature will feature a fashion show (featuring jewelry from Karen Smith Metal Wear), in addition to giving guests the opportunity to enjoy custom fittings, live music, catered hors d’oeuvres and great merchandise from sponsors and vendors.

A pre-show will showcase handcrafted bow ties and men’s accessories from Genuine Gentlemen LLC.

In addition, donations will be collected for Teen Achievement, a non-profit organization that promotes the importance of education to all youth by providing encouragement, guidance and the necessary tools needed to obtain success academically and socially.
