America's biggest karaoke puppet show kicked off last night - did anyone watch this?
It's really getting kind of silly, if it wasn't already at that level before. Who keeps telling all of these delusional teens that they can sing? I understand the need to be supportive, but it gets ridiculous.
Some of those trying out are clearly in it just for the fame, as well. You can't tell me otherwise about the guy in the Princess Leia costume last night.
Meanwhile, there are some people who can sing and it'll be interesting to see how the contest goes this year, since they are allowing people to use an instrument while performing.
Personally, it all seems pointless until they look for people who perform original material.
Here's a quick look at some of this week's new releases:
Kottonmouth Kings "Greatest Highs" - Gee, you think these guys smoke weed?
Yep, that's about it...
Locals The Lights, Fluorescent are releasing their debut EP at The Milestone on Jan. 19.
Beards Because at Amos' Southend on Jan. 11 offered the chance to donate money to a good cause and see some good music while you were there.
GCDC opened up the event with some bluegrass.
Truckstop Preachers hit the stage next as singer Nathan Palmer tried his best to shave while performing.
The Belmont Playboys got things rocking.
Loose Lugnuts wound up the evening with some country crooning.
Serj Tankian, singer of System of a Down and current solo artist, will hit Amos' Southend on Feb. 12. Head over to Amos' Southend for more info.
