CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – Charlotte’s Creative Loafing will host its first annual craft beer and burger festival April 11, 2015.

The Moo & Brew Craft Beer and Burger Festival will take place on the festival grounds of the NC Music Factory, home to the annual Charlotte Oktoberfest beer festival. Moo & Brew will offer samplings from 40 breweries, as well as tastes from local restaurants vying for the title of “Creative Loafing’s Best Burger.” Renowned California-based Stone Brewing Co. will be the key beer sponsor.

“As the Queen City's news, arts and entertainment paper of record, Creative Loafing has championed Charlotte's craft beer scene since it first started bubbling,” notes Amy Mularski, Creative Loafing’s sales manager. “It and the local food scene are important components in our mission of being the go-to source for all things cool, fresh and authentic. We're excited to celebrate all of that with this inaugural festival.”

There will be a VIP session (12:30 p.m.-2 p.m.) that will feature special releases and beers from each brewery, with a General Admission open tasting session to follow (2 p.m.-6 p.m.). Only 500 VIPs will be sold which also includes burger tastings ($65) and GA ($45).

“It's exciting to be the first festival in Charlotte to welcome Stone Brewing Co. as the beer attraction,” says event partner Cesar Leyva, who also serves as co-host on Cheers Charlotte Radio. “With the growth and popularity of beer festivals in Charlotte, it is our job to make sure Moo & Brew lives up to the expectations of the true craft beer fan, by featuring local and regional craft beer as well as bringing awesome rare offerings from across the country.”

Headlining the event will be Langhorne Slim, with one of Creative Loafing’s favorite local bands, Ancient Cities, helping to provide entertainment.

While Moo & Brew celebrates beer and food, the festival also aims to raise funds for Second Harvest Food Bank. Proceeds will be given directly to this organization. "We are delighted to partner with Creative Loafing in a celebration of Charlotte's culinary achievements and craft beer at the Moo & Brew Festival. Come out and enjoy the day and help us continue to achieve our greatest goal, fighting hunger in our community," says Kay Carter, Executive Director at Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

Tickets are available via mooandbrew.com; all updates, brewery and ticket announcements will be posted across our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@mooandbrewfest) channels. What better way to spend a beautiful spring Carolina day than sampling great craft beer, delicious burgers and great music?
