Who doesn’t like laughing until tears are running down their face? I know I do, and that’s why my pick this week is comedian Aries Spears. The Chicago native, who first started doing comedy at the age of 14, will be at The Comedy Zone Thursday through Sunday. He’s been in several movies and done some television work, voice-overs, Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam (his first television appearance) and Showtime at the Apollo, but Spears is probably best remembered for his talents on MADtv from 1997 to 2005. Spears is also well-known for his impressions of celebrities Eddie Murphy, Snoop Dogg, Robert De Niro, Denzel Washington, Al Pacino and many more. His parody of Jamie Foxx in Kanye West’s “Gold Digger,” which appeared on Mind Of Mencia, was classic. Since this is a holiday weekend and many of you are off work, please try to check him out — it’s worth it. (Mike Kitchen)
