With a new year comes new art and University of North Carolina at Charlotte is kicking off 2013 with two solo showcases, both of which are savvy in the realm of graphic design. Bobby Campbell (an assistant professor of graphic design at UNC Charlotte) has assembled installations and a series of digital drawings in plexiglass enclosures. The funky works are being described as recasting "the vast visual stimulus of postmodernity into newly designed, mix-matched bodies". The other exhibit, Knowledge Systems, features art by Ben Van Dyke (vice president of DesignInquiry). It's slated to feature a mix of large, limited edition prints and installations.
