Charlotte Food Fight
As if food trucks don’t face enough competition from each other out on the streets, Charlotte Food Fight goes on and places them on the chopping block with judges critiquing their cuisine. The event features 13 food trucks — the Tin Kitchen, Herban Legend, the Chrome Toaster, Wingzza, Gourmet Goombahs, Roaming Fork, Sal’s Roadside Eatery, Juan Taco Truck, Sticks and Cones, Chef Street Bistro, KO Food Truck, OooWeeBBQ and the Southern Cake Queen — who are competing for the bragging rights of “Chef’s Choice,” “Mystery Ingredient” and “People’s Choice.” Last year, this event debuted at N.C. Music Factory, but this time it has moved to a more food truck-friendly spot in the South End, where Food Truck Fridays are held. Come hungry and prepared to try a variety of grub. The event benefits Relay for Life of Charlotte — American Cancer Society’s annual walk that raises cancer awareness.
