Elemeno Pea

The fact that some folks really are superficial enough to believe that it’s a sin to wear white after Labor Day only makes the characters in playwright Molly Smith Metzler’s Elemeno Pea that much more believable. Actually, the play is based on some of Metzler’s own experiences in dealing with wealthy, outrageous denizens while working at a snooty yacht club in Martha’s Vineyard. Keeping all that in mind, you can expect CAST’s quarters to transform into a lavish seaside villa. In the script, Simone (Chesson Kusterer) is a personal assistant to Michaela (Devon Chandler), an obnoxious trophy wife whose marriage is on the rocks. It’s unfortunate that Simone’s sister Devon (Laurie Poole) has come to visit under the auspices of some R&R and sibling bonding while Michaela is away (she’s home early). But even before Michaela returns to the house in hysterics, Devon is already alarmed by her sister’s delusional fantasies related to her new life and a potential moneybags suitor named Ethan (Jeff Madar). Luckily the property caretaker, nicknamed Jos-B (Victor A. Cordova) because there’s already an employee named Jose, is around to keep the ground from shaking too much.
