Stanford alum Kristine Flaherty fell ass-backwards into hip-hop, so it’s no surprise that she doesn’t get a lot of street cred with the masses. She got started by setting out to prove how easy and simple so many rap songs were — if anyone can do it, so can I. She released four mixtapes before putting out her studio debut, Life as a Dog, last summer. (Jeff Hahne)
