The Bechtler presents Progress, Politics and Pastimes in the American Parlor on April 7. The Music and Museum concert chronicles how a century of change played out in the American parlor song – from Stephen Foster’s timeless odes to the rise of ragtime. Pianist Ethan Uslan and soprano Maria Jette will perform American popular songs from 1865 to 1915.
