For many people, social media is the modern version of the Italian-born, French-nurtured salon — a place to exchange ideas. Unfortunately, trolls sometimes make it a little difficult to contribute to the conversation; I mean, how many times have you typed out an angry comment in response to someone who clearly has their details wrong, only to delete what you’ve written. Salon Sundays is your solution. Each Sunday in April, in honor of National Poetry Month, poet and Pedestal Magazine founder John Amen and CAST bring together a diverse group of poets, spoken word artists and musicians for an inspiring afternoon of engaging entertainment. The first edition brings N.C. poet laureate Joseph Bathanti, musician Tanja Bechtler, slam master Bluz, The Main Street Rag’s M. Scott Douglass and poet Diana Pinckney. (Kimberly Lawson)
