Like the band’s namesake, punk-funk-hip-hop collective Shinobi Ninja combines the attention-deficit rush of the classic Sega Genesis game with a stealth attack. Posing as a guileless party band, these industry vets — the Ninjas count two record producers and a dancer for Rihanna in their ranks — layer old-school scratching, brat-tastic rap, metal shredding and pop-soul melodies into exuberant dance rock that is both innovative and crowd pleasing.
