The Summer Love Music and Art Festival
Perhaps Summer Love wasn’t the most accurate name for this festival — ringing all too similar to the iconoclast Summer of Love dominated by hallucinogen-spiked, half-clothed bohemian flower-children named “Rainbow” — for it to be considered a real possibility in Charlotte. Nevertheless, this festival is going strong in its second year, promoting local music and arts with a day-long celebration guaranteed to bleed the streets of NoDa and Plaza Midwood dry of pedestrian traffic. Local musicians like Lucky 5 and the delightfully entertaining Funky Geezer will make up the main attraction of this event, but the adjunct arts markets, corn hole games and activities are what make it a real festival — and one that you definitely should not miss, at that.
